Write a note.
Set it free.
Send an anonymous note out to sea in a bottle, or up to the sky on a lantern. The wind decides which — and random strangers find it.
How it works
Three steps. No names.
Write a note
A confession, a wish, a thank-you, a small win. Anything you would say to a stranger who might need it.
The wind decides
Your note leaves in a bottle across the ocean or on a lantern into the sky. You don’t get to choose — the wind does.
A stranger finds it
It washes up on random shores: maybe one person, maybe dozens. You will never know who, only how far it travelled.
By sea or by sky
Two ways to travel. The wind picks one.
By sea
Corked in a glass bottle and thrown into the night ocean. Currents carry it to shores you will never see.
By sky
Tied to a paper lantern and lifted into the stars. The wind sets it down in a stranger’s hands.
Your shore
Notes from strangers wash up on your island.
- 🔖 Keep the ones that move you.

Questions, answered.
Who receives my note?
A random number of random people who also use Seawish. Sometimes one, sometimes dozens. Neither you nor they ever see who the other is.
Can people reply?
No. There are no replies or chats — only notes drifting onward. Anyone can keep a note, or release it again so it reaches someone new.
Do I need an account?
Never. There’s no sign-up, email or password. Your anonymous identity lives on your device, and you can move it to a new phone with a transfer code.
How do you keep it safe?
Every note is screened before it sails, personal info and links are blocked, and you can report or block in one tap. Reports are reviewed quickly.
Is it free?
Yes. You can send a few notes a day for free. Seawish Plus adds unlimited notes, the note journey map, translation and more.
